Hello! I'm a freelance journalist based in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where Nikole Hannah-Jones' investigation on school resegregation sparked my passion for journalism. I am currently the editor of the University of Alabama's college newspaper and a graduate student in the UA Department of Gender and Race Studies. From schools to prisons, I'm interested in how news shapes the way we talk about race and space.

My work has made appearances in ProPublica and The New York Times, and I've covered K-12 and higher education for local publications throughout the South. Read on as I learn new ways to talk about the places that we live in, work in, learn in, and – most importantly – share.
